We're actually managing pretty well although we miss Brian while he's in Germany. Hopefully he'll take some time to post about his adventures while he is there. All we know so far is that he arrived safely and also managed to find his hostel in Augsburg and do some sightseeing. I'm hoping he'll get a chance to call us soon and tell us more about what's going on! I'm very grateful to my mom for letting us come up here to stay with her. I think I'd already be going a little crazy if I was home alone, but the time here is going by quickly. Yesterday we went to visit my grandparents in Fountain Green. While we were there Cole managed to break a toy turtle and a plastic windmill. I also caught him trying to open my mom's car with garden shears. Luckily I got to him before he scratched the paint! He's BUSY. Weston is mostly sleeping--but speaking of which, I hear his cry! More later...

More Pictures
I love this one of Weston and Brian...Weston was being really cooperative for the pictures.
Cole also cooperated surprisingly well.

Two weeks old

Wow, has it already been two weeks since Weston was born? Time flies. I'm finding that the adjustment to a new baby is much easier the second time around. Of course, that probably has a lot to do with the fact that so far Weston has been a very easy baby. He hardly cries at all...mostly just when he's getting his diaper changed. He also grunts a lot. But hey, if he's not crying, I'm happy. He also finally lost his umbilical cord yesterday, so he'll probably get his first "real" bath today or tomorrow!
Cole is adjusting really well to big brother status. He has stopped ignoring Weston's existence, and regularly asks what baby brother is doing. Mostly the answers to that question are "baby brother sleeping!" and "baby brother eating!" He's really enjoying Grandma Olsen being here as well. He always has someone ready and willing to build towers, fences, and castles out of blocks with him, and she takes him on a walk to the playground every morning. I'll have quite a standard to live up to once she's gone.
We're pulling a crazy stunt next week--well, that is, Brian is pulling a crazy stunt. He got asked to go to Germany for a week-long business trip from September 16th through the 22nd. I was appalled at the thought of being left alone so long, so soon after the baby was born, but we compromised and now I am going to be spending that week in Utah at my parents' house. I just don't know if I'd be up to such a big change so soon--I've had my mom here helping me and I'd go from lots of help to being totally on my own. We're looking forward to seeing family and hopefully Weston will travel well. If anyone in Utah wants to come see us, we'd love company! We'll be in St. George on the 13th, 14th, and 23rd and in Nephi from the 15th to the 22nd.
