This is the first time that Cole has paid much attention to General Conference (and it still wasn't much) but he said a couple great things that brought us a lot of laughs. We have been talking to him since President Hinckley passed away about there being a new prophet, and he knew that his name was Thomas S. Monson. Yesterday when President Monson got up to conduct the morning session, Brian asked Cole if he wanted to see the prophet, which he did, so Brian showed him. Later, when the choir was singing, Cole pointed and said, "Those are the women, and (pointing to the men) those are prophets!"
So, we spent some time explaining which ones are prophets, which ones are apostles, and which ones are choir members.
We watched all the sessions on the Internet this year since we don't have cable or satellite TV, and yesterday there were a couple times when the video froze for a few moments. During one particularly long freeze-up, Cole stopped what he was doing, looked up, and said, "Hey, momma, the apostle stopped working!"
I love the things kids say.

Funny Cole-isms from Conference

For any of you who may think that Karene sure makes a lot of work out of one-quarter acre...some words of explanation. First, our official lot size was one-half acre. However, the city actually was designed for wide streets and we lived on a corner. Since the streets were not wide, it fell to property owners to take care of what wasn't being used as street, so in actuality, our lot was more like a full acre of really tough soil. It was very heavy clay with lots of large rocks in it. Tough environment...but it raised some good hard-working kids!
Okay, I wasn't sure if it was a quarter acre or a half-acre, but I'll fix it. :)
Too cute. When Conference started to we the kids to see our new Prophet. Addy said," Where is president Hinkley?" We reminded her he dies and she said,"Oh yeah they put his body in the car" Then followed," I want President Hinkley to be THERE" She really misses him even though she never met him which I think is pretty neat. Two year olds have to be the funniest people on the planet!
FUNNY! This reminded me of something funny Olivia said during Conference, I'll have to blog about it. That Cole is a thinker!

oh wait, i don't have kids yet. ;)
