Feeling Good

One of the intermediate goals Brian and I had set on our road to the half-marathon (see my post below for more info on that) was to complete a 10K. In November 2006 we participated in our first one. It was a disappointing experience for me, because before we even hit the halfway mark, I developed a severe stitch in my side, so bad that I couldn't keep from doubling over. I had to walk for about a mile of the 10K and consequently didn't feel like I really accomplished the goal, even though I did cross the finish line.

Today I put that all behind me! My good friend and running buddy, Jamie Carpenter, and I ran a 10K this morning. We had hoped to finish in under an hour, but by the time it was all said and done we were just pretty darn proud of ourselves that we finished, and ran the whole thing! We still finished in 68 minutes and we're feelin' good.

No way! I didn't know you were going to run a 10K right around the time I was going to! Good work - it feels awesome doesn't it?!?
