Here is Cole with his favorite toy, Sunshine Symphony.
Another toy, "The Breadboard", is making a strong play to be foremost in Cole's affections, but that's a story for another day. For now, Sunshine reigns supreme. Cole and Sunshine go way back to before Cole was even one year old. It was then that Cole's Aunt Jennie and Uncle Jonathan united Cole with his lifelong friend. Here is a picture from the early days.
I don't know if Jennie and Jonathan knew this when they first found Sunshine, but he has fabulous secret powers. Not only is he well versed in Classical music (a special power in its own right to be sure), but he also has a functional bowel. Just take a look at this sequence of photos:

You can imagine our surprise (and Cole's delight) when we first discovered that Sunshine's diaper was full of candy. You may also imagine Cole's disappointment when we subsequently found that Sunshine's bowel is irregular, producing other non-edible items just as often as not. Items like blocks, plastic pegs, seashells, and binkies have all found their way through Sunshine's intestinal tract. Speaking of which tract, we have theorized that it is because of Sunshine's remarkably short intestine, and his lack of bile-producing internal organs that the sundry items arrive unpolluted and edible (in the case of candy). Nonetheless, Sunshine has demonstrated extremely sensitive skin; for this reason, we always ask that Cole use wipes before closing Sunshine's diaper back up, as you can see in the pictures above.
Well, as you can see, Cole couldn't ask for a better friend. He would no sooner part with Sunshine than would Jack (of beanstalk fame) be parted with his famous golden-egg-laying goose.
Finally, here is a movie of one of Cole's more recent diaper-changing experiences. (So much character-building responsibility for one so young!)

What a stinkin' cutie. Aren't kids so much fun?
That was very entertaining!! Thanks for sharing. Even my kids are laughing. Now they are asking me "what is sunshine poop" too funny:)
Hilarious. Isn't it strange how attached they can get to toys and the things they pick up on that we do.
For comparison purposes, could you consolidate Sunshine and Weston's DDO outputs? And although we are unsure as to the actual frequency of occurance, we would also appreciate it if you could add the "candy" catagory to Weston's charts. (Hopefully this will not confuse Cole as to the edibility of each.)
I LOVE this post. I laughed and laughed. Thanks for making my day! :)
What a funny kid! That made for a great laugh!
All right Kirk (we know that's your comment up there). I have gone ahead and made a chart for Sunshine's DDO. I think it's less confusing to have them broken apart, but you can let me know if you disagree.
Brian, this really made me laugh. (I even made Dave watch it). I wish I had such a generous toy (even if I did have to wipe its bottom). :)
Heh, heh... I didn't realize all of Sunshine's potential until now.
