Some fun pictures to start off the new post...
If you haven't met this side of Brian yet, consider yourself informed that it does indeed exist. Happy Halloween!!!
Cole's cute new church outfit...I love it!!
Weston's getting big! A girl in our ward gave birth to a 5 lb. 11 oz. baby last week and when I saw the tiny little thing I finally understood why it is people say that my babies don't look like newborns. I definitely don't make them that small!! Weston is 7 weeks old in this picture.
This has been a week of sleep experimentation. Living in the tiny house that we do, Cole and Weston are going to have to share a bedroom. We've been debating when the best time is to move Weston in to Cole's room. We originally thought we'd keep Weston in our room for a few months and then move him, but that was before we knew that he was the incredible grunting baby. I seriously cannot sleep at night with him in the room. He may be sleeping perfectly soundly, but he'll occasionally make very loud grunting noises and it was making my sleep deprivation worse because I couldn't sleep even when he was sleeping! So, first we moved him to the living room, but realizing that couldn't work for long, we decided to grit our teeth and move him into Cole's room, prepared to deal with some struggles but hang in there for a week to see if we could make it work. To our great surprise and pleasure, the transition has been nearly painless! I thought for sure the first few nights Cole would wake up when Weston cried, since Weston still wakes up a couple times a night to eat. However, Cole has slept through those night feedings without exception! We have also had the flip side of the situation, when Cole has awoken screaming, and Weston sleeps right through that. It's great. No guarantees it will always be this good, but I think it's a good sign that we can make the transition permanent. Hooray for small blessings!!
Cole has finally decided he is interested in holding Weston on his lap, so with the assistance of the boppy, he does it quite regularly now. However, because I usually use the boppy when I'm feeding Weston, when Cole wants to hold him he'll say, "Cole feed Weston?" And when he's got him on his lap he'll say proudly, "Cole feeding Weston!!"
I'm happy to report that my six weeks of postpartum inactivity are over, and I've started running again, now in the evenings, with my friend Jamie. I'm hoping it will last as Jamie is somewhat accident/injury prone. :) We've gone twice now, and so far, so good! I'm aiming for a 10K in January so wish me luck!

Brian looks like he is preforming open heart surgery. Beets the alternative. hahaha
Wow, running already! I'm impressed!
Thanks for sharing your update and your photos. Cole is adorable in his church outfit and I can't believe how big Weston is already. But wait! He was big at birth so what was I to expect!?!?
You give me courage -- I just set up the crib today so I was preparing to grit my teeth for tonight. Maybe we'll be lucky too!
Wow...and you're already running? Way to go girl! I'm proud of you! Weston has already changed tons since you left here a couple of week ago. I probably won't recognize him next time we get to see him...maybe you can put a sign on him to let us know who he is??? :)
You go Karene. I am not looking forward to the day when Livie and Jerem share. Running, how inspirational, I am deeply impressed.
