Here's a photo journal from the last couple of weeks...and really, doesn't everyone like pictures better than a bunch of blabbing about our lives?
Brian got his first-ever eye exam a couple of weeks ago, thanks to the fact that one of our good friends is an optometrist. He also got his first pair of glasses! He only really needs them when he's on the computer or driving at night. I think they look good on him!
We've been asked how we are being affected by all the fires down here. Thankfully, all we've suffered is some yucky air. However, the good side is that it makes for nice sunsets!
"This is the way we share our toys, share our toys, share our toys..." (sung to Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush). I appreciated Cole's efforts to share, though Weston doesn't quite appreciate it yet.
This is the best smile we've caught on camera from Weston to date.

Cole has truly gotten into the spirit of Halloween this year as it pertains to pumpkins (among other things). He loves pumpkins and especially likes lining these mini-pumpkins up in various locations throughout the house. This was before they became spider pumpkins (see below).
The making of the spider-pumpkins...

Maybe we were crazy to let Cole play with black paint. He thought it was wonderful.
The finished product...
Now, before all you germophobes out there go after me for this shot, let me reassure you that Cole is not potty training yet so this is not so unsanitary as it seems. And even if it was, I just could not miss the photo opportunity!
Cole's most recent and lasting obsession...electrical outlets. We've given up trying to keep him away from them. It was a 24/7 job. It seems like all his waking thoughts are consumed with them. We are just hoping that when (not if, I'm afraid) he gets his first shock, he will learn not to mess with them anymore.
We visited the California version of a pumpkin patch last weekend. It was nothing compared to Gardener Village in Salt Lake, but still pretty fun, and Cole enjoyed it a great deal. Weston's Baby Bjorn made a good mini-pumpkin holder. You can see Cole in the background if you look closely. They did have pony rides, which Cole enjoyed a lot.
I participated in my first cake-decorating contest for the Ward Halloween Party last night. I didn't win, but it was fun anyway.
We'll post photos of the Halloween costumes in a few days!

What fun pictures! Cole cracks me me up--I wonder if Weston will be as energetic.
Is it bad for me to say "I hope not!"? No, he really is fun!
Wow, your life looks like one grand party! I love the spider pumpkins! And Cole...what's not to love. Plugs in both hands, outlet right there...how "Cole" is that? You've got an amazing family!
