Cole-ism #1:
Cole: Momma, I'm going to tell you a joke.
Me: Okay.
Cole: Knock knock.
Me: Who's there?
Cole: Banana.
Me: Banana who?
Cole: (mutters something unintelligible)
Me: What?
Cole: (still unintelligible)
Me: What?
Cole: (still unintelligible...in his defense, there was some loud music interfering with my hearing)
Me: WHAT???
Cole: (very put out) C'mon Momma! You're supposed to laugh!!
(Later I found out what he'd been saying...BANANA BATHTUB. He tells really funny jokes.)
Cole-ism #2
We were in the car listening to the kids' favorite CD, which has a collection of nursery rhymes and fairy tales on it. The following nursery rhyme came on, which you're probably familiar with:
What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Snakes and snails and puppy dogs' tails
That's what boys are made of.
Keep in mind Cole has heard this a million times. For some reason, this time he was paying particular attention. After the line "snakes and snails and puppy dogs' tails" he burst out, "WHAT?!? I thought we were made of skin and hair!"

Interesting. Bennett's knock knock jokes also often involve bananas.
It is likely that Cole learned to tell knock knock jokes while he was staying with you guys, actually. Bennett has been his mentor in many ways.
I love it!
Those are too funny!!!
