I was on the phone with my sister yesterday and she said, "Karene, it seems like you always take on big life changes about when you're going to have a baby." She has a good point. When I was 36 weeks pregnant with Cole, Brian graduated from USU and we moved from Logan to California. Nothing earth-shattering happened around Weston's birth, but we moved to Virginia when I was just finished with my first trimester of this pregnancy. In the meantime, we've been debating our future, and we've finally decided that we're going to stay in Virginia for awhile. As a result, we've been doing some house hunting. About a week ago, we found a house we really like and made an offer on it. It's a short sale, so it could be awhile before we know what will happen with it, but today the owner accepted our offer (finally!) and supposedly now it's going to the bank for approval. Depending on how things work out, we could be closing on the house within a few weeks of when Baby Girl is due, and moving shortly thereafter. I don't really plan things this way, but for some reason life changes all tend to come at the same time for us. Wish us luck...mostly with being patient while all this gets figured out!

Congrats on your offer being accepted!! How exciting!! Good luck with the house and the upcoming addition to your family!
hehehe, I'm totally laughing. Not because you put down an offer and it got accepted (which is FANTASTIC and I'm super excited for you!), but because I will be shocked if the bank approves the sale that quickly. Of course, the previous owners of our house had 2 loans so there were 2 different banks to approve it which is why it took so long. Good luck to you!! I hope it all works out, but that it takes long enough to give you some peace after popping out your little one. It'd be horrible having to spend that precious holding-a-newborn time stressing about a move.
How exciting! Let us know when it goes through and then send PICTURES! We want to see where we'll be put up when we come to visit.
I guess we do seem quite naive about the short sale process when I say that it might be going through within weeks of the baby's birth. We are aware of how long it often takes (our realtor has taken great pains to make sure we understand the realities of it), but we do have some reason to hope it might go through more quickly...for one thing, there is only one bank involved. Also, the seller's agent says they've done quite a bit of the paperwork and have worked with the bank in advance. When they posted the listing for this house, they claimed that the sale might possibly go through in as little as 45 days. And, of course, we hope to claim the tax credit, so we're hoping like crazy that the bank will at least approve the sale by April 30th. All of that being said, we know that it's unlikely so we're trying not to get our hopes up too high. We have the option to pull out at the end of April if we don't have any news from the bank, but we don't know if we will or not. There's still a lot up in the air.
I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be a booger! I said I was laughing at first, and then I realized wait, we had to deal with 2 banks so yours probably will be quicker. So the egg is on my face :)
However, I still think it would be nice in a way if it did take awhile (or go the other way, and get approved this week) so you don't have anything else to stress about when that baby comes. I loved baby time the third time around best of all!
I totally agree, we're hoping for either REALLY fast or REALLY slow on the bank's part. Partly, as you mentioned, because I fear the pain of moving before I'm fully recovered from the baby (which usually takes me months!) and partly because if we do miss the tax credit deadline, it would be nice to have time to save some more money before we have to start payments on the house. With our luck, they'll approve the sale on May 1st!
Don't worry, Amber, I didn't think you were being a booger. :)
We're the same way! With both my girls we moved when I was 7 months pregnant. Let me tell you how much I helped with those moves (well, I guess I did most of the packing and unpacking, just not the picking-up-and-moving-boxes and stuff).
I can't believe that you're staying in Virginia! Wow, that is news! You must really love it out there. I hope the house goes through and you can get in relatively soon! Powodzenia!
