Well, actually, this is kind of a reverse spelling bee. Except with incorrect spelling. Let me explain...
Cole has been learning to write words by sounding them out and writing them down the way they sound to him. This results in a lot of really funny words getting written down on random pieces of paper around the house. We've been collecting our favorites, and now, for the entertainment of our blog readers, we offer the following challenge:

Cole's doing awesome! When Gavin has to write in his journal and for homework, this is exactly how the teachers want him to write, with no one correcting his spelling. Which makes for some funny sentences, like "Bats eet in sex." How exciting, having a reader is so much fun!
I think I caught an armpit in there somewhere. Does he start kindergarten this year?
Danielle, you did amazingly well. I won't post the answers yet just in case anyone else wants to take a guess, but wow!! I'm impressed.
Brook, yep, Cole does start kindergarten this year. Amber, I love the "bats" sentence. AWESOME.

Wow, Danielle--you're impressive! I think I ditto most of her answers, but I'm guessing that #2 is Dadda...#3 is helpin' and I'm thinking that #7 is 'lectricity.

Sometimes the way he spells things makes us realize he's pronouncing them wrong, when we wouldn't have picked up on it otherwise. It's hilarious. Thanks for playing!
Wow!! Cole does really well! The only reason I got most of those is because you can sound out almost exactly what he spelled! He's gonna be valedictorian of his school for sure.
And now know that "RF" is earth, that's my new favorite. That is priceless! I love it!
