I usually wear my hair down, but occasionally if I'm having a bad hair day or just need my hair out of my face, I twist it up and put it in a clip. A few days ago when I did this, Cole looked at me and said, "I don't like your hair like that. Can you take that black thing out of your hair?" I laughed and thought it was just a funny, random thing. A day or so later I pulled my hair up again, and once again, Cole informed me that he doesn't like it that way. I find it hilarious that my 3-year-old has a preference for how I wear my hair!
It gets better though...just now I'm sitting at the computer, my hair is in a ponytail, and I'm wearing workout clothes and glasses (I usually wear contacts). Cole said, "Mama, did you go running?" I said, "No, I just went walking today." He said, "Can you wear pretty clothes? I want you to take off that shirt and put on a pretty shirt. I don't like your hair up. Can you take that black thing off your hair? Can you take off your glasses?" I'm cracking up. Who knew he noticed? Who would've guessed he cared?
Guess I'd better go get cleaned up!

with my kids it is the other way around, I am usually not wearing make-up or if I do it is just a littel bit and wear my sweats unless we go somewhere. Last week when I went to the temple I had make-up on and put on a littel extra since it was evening and Addy told me I look like I am going to church and I looked very pretty. My kids notice when i dress up. They are use to seeing mye in my grubbies.
That was funny! Lily would probably notice if I ever really bothered to look nice, but I really don't think Luke would either notice or care--he's too much like me!
HA! That's hilarious. Gavin is like the first comment here...he notices when I wear makeup and wants to know if it's Sunday already.
Karene that is pretty funny. My little girl told me the other day "mommy your hair looks ugly" I thought how rude. Then I looked at my hair and it was pretty ugly. Kids are so honest.
wow--who knew? well, cole is an intelligent one! and like you say, he cares. what a cool story. he'll love reading that in years to come. :)
